The concept of street food has taken Brisbane by storm with casual eating-style markets all over the place gaining great popularity.

There’s just something about purchasing your food from a truck that just gets you going right? The feeling of involving yourself in street food culture and helping out small businesses, all while inhaling tasty treats, just can’t be replicated.

Lovers of meals on wheels rejoice, for tomorrow is Brisbane’s inaugural food truck celebration; Food Truck Phenomnomnom! Kicking off from midday at the Coorparoo Bowls club, a selection of delicious mobile eateries will congregate in the name of good food and great times.

Prepare your waistline for gourmet pleasures from vans such as Juan More Taco’s, The Pasta Cruiser, I Love Frozen Yoghurt and King of Wings, plus there will be live music from Don and the Mobsters for your entertainment, so bring along a picnic blanket and pull up a piece of grass.

Some must know information for the day: four-legged friends are more than welcome, as long as they don’t mind the company of other animals and people rushing back and forth with handfuls of food. There’s plenty of street parking available in the area, but for public transporters, Coorparoo train station and bus stops are within walking distance on the venue. It’s a free event (bonus!); so more of your dosh can be spent on what really counts (eating). In order to sample as much food as possible, it is recommended you bring along an entourage so you don’t bust the buttons on your jeans too quickly.
