RESTAURANTEURS, chefs, critics and all around foodies are set for Fortitude Valley’s third annual James Street celebration of all things tasty.
It’s a four day program that promises an extensive culinary market of Instagram-worthy moments, unique cooking demonstrations in pop-up kitchens and exclusive degustation dinners hosted by Harvey’s Bar Bistro and Gerard’s Bistro. Fancier than Iggy? Just might be. Expect to see a whole lot of specially sourced mousseron, asparagus stems and cured cheeses. Between swigs of fine reds and bites of bruschetta, its been titled an ‘epicurean adventure for the ages’. Something to write home about. Or at least, get your gram on.
Featuring some of the choicest fruit and vegetables of fine food suppliers in the country, there is little that won’t tickle your palette, whatever that may be. Samples, products and recipes will be scattered throughout the show. And you can make small talk with the James Street chefs as they sauté, slice and sizzle below your little nose. The Urban Picnic is another feature on the menu, where food retailers are serving street-food style indulgences for you to enjoy on the grass and in the sun. The afternoon is set to sink with craft beers, a jazz band, stuffed olives and bombolini… what more could you want?
Check out the Mojito Embassy, Aperol Spritz Lounge and the interactive kids lounge, all snuggled between stretches of picnic grass and food precinct stalls. They’re heating the woks for Thursday the 31st of July to Sunday the 3rd of August, so keep the calendars free, food lovers.
