IN a forever changing world there are many elements that form our curiosities in an ideal life of style. Here at Moustache Magazine, we have searched in the effort to present you with a premium and alternative guide to the best places to eat, shop and visit. Explore the world with us, and together we can transcend with what we call “The BLACLIST”.

As we explore our creative passages sometimes we like to escape, especially in our own city of Brisbane. This is a city that is going through rapid change within its infrastructure and culture, we thought visiting a place that prides itself on luxury and style was needed, hence why the Emporium Hotel was our first venture.

Set in the heart of the Fortitude Valley, this boutique luxury hotel was the first of its kind for Queensland. This unique venue belongs to the visionary minds of forward thinking Queenslanders Anthony and Francine John. Built in 2007 the hotel was one of the helping hands in shaping the once dilapidated suburb, and now stands high amongst locals, travellers and everyone who appreciate the finer things in life.

We arrived to be presented to a room full of elegance, staying in their deluxe corner suite (with only four in the hotel). Spread over two rooms, it was the perfect size for colleagues and friends to share. This room plays host to a King bed suite which has its own bathroom, wardrobe, kitchenette and TV for those times where you need to just relax. Joining this amazing aspect, was the second room with a lounge suite, a dining area (suitable for meetings for those of you who want to work), coffee and dining table, plus a guest bathroom. The latter is great for those who don’t want to share a bathroom with three others.

The beautiful elements of “Emporium’ don’t stop there! We had the pleasure of using the pool, the sauna and squeezed in a work out at the petite gym. This was just the start of our escape, if anything our preparation for a night out, amongst the many cultural and favourable options.

Downstairs is home to the famous Cocktail Bar, which is fit for anyone who loves their wines, enjoys an appetizing cocktail or a craft beer. The design of this bar, transports you to a place outside of Brisbane, which will allow everyone to feel important amongst the crowd.

After chasing a few fine drinks, we had the pleasure of moving on to the surrounding tasteful offerings of the Emporium precinct. Anyone who lives in Brisbane would be well aware of these, but for our beloved readers who don’t, be aware  you have the options of Tartufo, Nant Whisky Cellar and Bar, Mecca Bah, Gina Sushi Bar and Dinning, the premier dessert destination, Freestyle Tout and the taste of France with Belle Époque Patisserie.  All of these are enough to satisfy your taste buds, and without having to move too far.

Another highlight about “Emporium’ is how close it is to the various hotspots in Brisbane. Not only do you have the surrounding destinations, you also have the entertainment precinct for some of the best bars and clubs, the best restaurants located in the CBD and the Portside Wharf. Together these great places, really make Emporium a choice selection for your next visit.

So if you are visiting Brisbane or are a local looking for a getaway in style, make sure you check in at the Emporium Hotel. The vision, the architecture and atmosphere is enough to transcend your opinion of Brisbane, and will provide you with an everlasting desire for this kind.
