AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 almost as fast as NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 Mobile in 1080p gaming (excluding RT)

La Radeon RX 7600 d'AMD presque aussi rapide que la RTX 4060 Mobile de NVIDIA en jeu 1080p (hors RT)

AMD's Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs are rarely available on popular laptops. NVIDIA's RTX 30 and 40 GPUs dominate budget and enthusiast offerings. The Radeon RX 7600S is an RDNA 3 GPU manufactured on TSMC's N6 (6nm) process. Featuring 1,792 shaders and 8GB GDDR6 memory at 16Gbps via a 128-bit bus, it has an external bandwidth of 256GB/s, supported by 32MB of on-die cache (Infinity L3 Cache ).

The RX 7600S has a TDP of 80W, and trades blows with the mobile RTX 4060. In 1080p framing, the latter is almost as fast as its rival GeForce 80W. It runs at a frequency of 2446 MHz compared to 2612 MHz for the 4060M.

The move to ray-tracing kills the Radeon's performance, making it just 50% faster than the mobile RTX 4060. To top it all off, we're dealing with native performance at 1080p without DLSS 3, which further widens the gap.

Both GPUs are equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, but the RX 7600S runs into a memory bottleneck when ray-tracing is enabled. On the other hand, the mobile RTX 4060 does a great job losing just 15 FPS with ray tracing enabled (with a TDP of 115W+25W).
