Deadpool 3 will likely connect the X-Men to the MCU

Deadpool 3 reliera probablement les X-Men au MCU

It’s finally happening! Although nothing is confirmed, reports claim that the X-Men and mutants will eventually be introduced into the MCU in the coming years. It was established by Kevin Feige himself during Comic-Con 2019 that the mutants were going to return. However, he never revealed any titles that would include them. However, thanks to an insider's report, reports say that the MCU's Deadpool 3 could feature the X-Men.

The X-Men return in Deadpool 3.

Grace Randolph, a YouTuber, journalist, and comic book artist, recently posted a video on YouTube in which she answers some questions from viewers. Among the questions asked were many about the Marvel Cinematic Universe's X-Men in Deadpool 3. She didn't give character names, but she said: “A Fox not only in Deadpool 3, but also in Secret Wars.” She also mentioned that she is still determining whether Anna Paquin will reprise her role as Rogue. Many of the other actors in question might need more time to star in the MCU's very demanding schedule.

Until his reports are clarified or confirmed, this remains speculation at the moment. However, his words make sense, as we know there are at least three mutants in the MCU world right now, but we hope there will be more soon enough.

X-Men and mutants already present in the MCU

A big surprise dropped at the end of Ms. Marvel, suggesting that Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani) was, in fact, a mutant. This paves the way for Marvel to introduce new mutants that have never been a part of the MCU or Fox. This bodes well for future mutants in the MCU, but not for Fox's X-Men, which could become a thing of the past.

In addition to Kamala, two other mutants have been confirmed to be returning to the MCU after a long wait. Deadpool 3 is produced under the Marvel banner, with the Merc with a Mouth (played by Ryan Reynolds), and Logan as Wolverine (played by Hugh Jackman), making at least one of the X-Men. It was a huge and welcome surprise when Ryan Reynolds shared that they wanted to do something special for Deadpool's return to the MCU. He revealed that they convinced Hugh Jackman to bring Wolverine back from the dead. According to reports, the two mutants may join the fight against Kang the Conqueror and not be alone.

Why were the X-Men absent?

The reason Mutants and the X-Men and more like Deadpool, and Fantastic Four.

Since Disney bought Fox and Marvel Studios, the characters have returned to the MCU. However, they have yet to make an actual appearance. Due to Feige's master plan for the MCU, there was a wait to reintroduce mutants in a way that made sense. Fortunately, the multiverse provided the perfect opportunity.

We've already seen this with the appearance of Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Fantastic Four's Reed Richards (John Krasinski) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Still, these two came from a different reality and ended up dying in the movie, so the Avengers might not be able to count on their help.

Marvel has entered a new era, with many known and loved Avengers yet to make it through the Infinity Saga. They were therefore replaced by the new guard who are taking up the torch. This will likely be the case with the X-Men in Deadpool 3, but reports have said that Marvel wants to give Fox's X-Men the farewell they deserve before introducing more new mutants.

Deadpool 3 won't be released until November 8, 2024, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow approximately 18 months later on May 1, 2026. So it will be a while before we know whether or not these claims are valid, but the future seems full of hope.
