Forza Motorsport is out on PC and Xbox series consoles, and we've gotten GPU benchmarks for the latest GeForce RTX and Radeon RX graphics cards. We'll be testing the RTX 40 series and Radeon RX 7000 GPUs at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K to determine the best card for the different resolutions on PC. We opted for the Ultra Quality preset with and without “Ray Tracing Ambient Occlusion” to determine the winner.
Test benches
- CPU: Intel Core i9-13900KF.
- Memory: 16GB x2 DDR5 6000MT/s 37 CL.
- Motherboard: Asus Z790 Maximus Hero.
- POWER SUPPLY: RM1000E Gold
1080p, 1440p and 4K benchmarks
We tested our GPUs at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K using the Ultra Quality preset with and without ray tracing, and obtained the following results:
The NVIDIA RTX 40 GPUs perform well here, beating their rivals at 1080p and 1440p. The GeForce RTX 4090 is significantly faster than the RX 7900 XTX, while the RTX 4070 outperforms the RX 7900 XT at 1080p but falls behind at 1440p. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is faster than the RX 7700 XT at 1080p but slower at 1440p.
In 4K, the GeForce RTX 4090 dominates the competition and is well ahead of the RX 7900 series cards.
Ray Tracing Benchmarks
The ranking doesn't change much when ray-tracing is enabled. Forza Motorsport is well optimized for AMD and NVIDIA GPUs.
At 1080p, the GeForce RTX 4090 is the fastest card, followed by the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT. The GeForce RTX 4070 comes in third place, followed by the RTX 4060 Ti and finally the RX 7700 XT.
At 1440p, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is faster than the RTX 4060 Ti while the other GPUs maintain their respective positions.
At 4K, unsurprisingly, the RTX 4090 is the fastest GPU, averaging 85.6 FPS, followed by the RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT with 59 FPS and 46 FPS, respectively.
