The world of play and creativity merge once again to bring to life a new gem among LEGO IDEAS sets. This time, the alliance between the LEGO Group and Polaroid has produced an exciting result: the LEGO IDEAS Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera building set.
This innovative model, originally designed by Marc, an avid LEGO fan, known as Minibrick Productions (@minibrickYT), manages to capture the iconic essence of the Polaroid camera in a set of LEGO bricks.
With a total of 516 parts, this set faithfully reproduces the design features that made the original OneStep camera iconic among photography enthusiasts. From its unique design to its practical features, this display model includes details like a buildable Polaroid Time-Zero Land film pack and three illustrated LEGO Polaroid “photos.”
Additionally, it features a functional viewfinder, the iconic color spectrum, an exposure compensation dial and a shutter button, allowing you to load and eject the photos shown. It even has a door that opens to load LEGO Polaroid photos, adding realism and authenticity to the building experience.
The inspiration behind this exceptional design led Marc, also known as Minibrick Productions, to express:
The OneStep creation process took just over a month, from concept to completion. I actually started designing it while on vacation in France, eager to give it shape… I've always been fascinated by the design of the Polaroid OneStep. It is iconic and omnipresent.
The original Polaroid OneStep camera debuted on the market in 1977 and quickly captivated amateur and professional photographers. This revolutionary device brought instant photography into homes around the world, giving people the ability to develop their photos instantly, a unique and memorable experience.
The LEGO IDEAS: Polaroid OneStep Camera set will be available for pre-sale from December 15, and in stores worldwide from January 1, with a recommended retail price of €79.99. An opportunity for LEGO and photography fans to immerse themselves in a unique building experience and remember the iconic era of instant photography with the iconic Polaroid camera.
