One Punch Man has had two successful seasons since its first release in 2015. It's understandable that fans were intrigued by the bald-headed hero and his ability to take down enemies with a single punch. Besides Saitama, fans have grown to love most of the series' main cast, as the story focuses more on the other heroes. But there has been no news about the series since the second season aired in 2019. That is, until August 2022, when it was officially announced that One Punch season 3 Man was in production. This was good news for fans of the One Punch Man anime and manga, and it made fans ecstatic. So naturally, the audience would like to know what we can expect from the next season.

Two years have passed since the release of One Punch Man season 2, and fans began to think that no more episodes would be released. However, the anime's official Twitter page posted a promotional image which revealed that a third season would be released. Naturally, fans were excited about this news and tried to find out as much information as possible about the upcoming season. Without further ado, here is everything we know about One Punch Man season 3.
When will the third season of One-Punch Man be released?
Unfortunately, no release date has been confirmed for the new season. However, fans have speculated that the third season could hit screens as early as 2023. This is highly unlikely if the series didn't go into production until 2022. A 2024/2025 release date is more realistic . Indeed, we must also take into account the time that studios generally take to produce a season. For example, it took four years before fans saw a second season of One Punch Man after its initial release in 2015. Likewise, fans might have to wait another 3 or 4 years before seeing a third season.
Will One Punch Man season 3 be animated by Madhouse?
Each released season has seen a different animation studio handle the animation of the series. In the first season, Madhouse handled the animation and did a great job in terms of quality. The second season was handled by a lesser-known animation studio, J.C. Staff. However, the animation quality of the second season was the subject of much controversy. Fans weren't happy with what they received, although, arguably, the studio did an okay job. But it would make more sense to see J.C. Staff return to host the third season, even if he's not fans' first choice.
Additionally, it was speculated that MAPPA Studios would take over the animation for the third season. This would make sense, given that MAPPA has an insane work schedule and has supported a lot of big anime in recent years, the most popular being Attack on Titan. But the official One Punch Man page on Twitter warned fans not to believe it, because the takeover by MAPPA studios is only a rumor. There has been no confirmation as to who will host the next season. But if MAPPA or J.C. Studios did it, fans fear a significant drop in quality. The latter studio's work was spotted in the second season, and MAPPA Studios saw a lot of turmoil for the final season of Attack on Titan.
Another choice that fans have yet to consider is Studio Bones. They are responsible for the superb animation of the OPM creator's other great work, Mob Psycho 100. And given the end of season 3 of Mob Psycho 100 and the upcoming end of season 6 of My Hero Academia, they would have certainly time to take care of the project.

Is there a trailer or teaser for season 3?
There is no confirmed teaser or trailer for the third season, much to the disappointment of fans. There has also been no confirmation of a date for a trailer to be released. So fans can only wait. However, that doesn't necessarily mean fans have nothing to watch in the meantime. One Punch Man creator Yusuke Murata illustrated and released a short film for the anime in September 2019. It may not be a trailer for the new season, but it's something new to the series. And if you've seen the main series but weren't aware, there are quite a few OVAs available on many streaming sites that continue the adventures of fan-favorite heroes.
What will be the plot of One Punch Man season 3?
Again, there has been no confirmation on the plot of the upcoming season yet. However, if one were to take a guess, the next season will likely follow the manga and pick up from chapter 85. This means the focus will be on Garou, one of the best villains in recent years. Additionally, the new season will further explore the Monster Association and introduce higher-level threats such as Evil Natural Water and Royal-Ripper. The most anticipated scenes of season 3 lie in the array of fight sequences between the heroes and villains. This will be a direct result of an all-out war between the Heroes Association and the Monsters Association.
And if we consider the scale of the fights that we have already seen between Saitama and the other members of the Association of Heroes, then the sequences of the next season will be something to look forward to.

Who will be back for the third season?
Based on the information provided by the manga, it can be assumed that Saitama and Genos will return for the next season. It can also be assumed that they will reprise their roles as the main characters of the series. Additionally, many heroes fans met in the second season will also be returning to the screen. However, new characters will be introduced in the series, and many will be villains. It's important to remember that none of this information has been officially confirmed and is based on the remaining chapters of the manga.
