Samsung just held its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 1, 2023, where they revealed their latest lineup for their Galaxy Book laptops, including three fantastic new devices. One of the laptops has been touted as the fastest laptop to date and could be the latest rival to the MacBook Pro, and that is the high-end Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra
Samsung's fastest laptop yet has a ton of great features designed to enable its users to accomplish the most demanding tasks of their lives, whether it's work projects, to watch “rich and detailed content without loss of fidelity” and even to be able to play high-end games with complete fluidity thanks to its many advantages. It also features a graphite-colored chassis with an all-aluminum frame to give you a lightweight, sleek, and flat design.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra has a few options to choose from, like the 13th generation Intel Core-i7 or Core-i9 processor. In addition, you can choose between 16 or 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an Nvidia RTX GeForce 4070 or RTX 4050 graphics card, all to deliver “studio-quality” graphics that will enhance the user's experience in their creative projects and its games.
It features a 16-inch 3K (2880×1800) resolution, with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, so you won't have to worry about your fps with this laptop. It would also be one of the first laptops to feature Samsung's Dynamic AMOLED 2x display, a feature usually reserved for its smartphone line, but which will now be available on its laptops.
This laptop is about more than just images and graphics. It also comes with cutting-edge audio and mic features, including a four-speaker system for clear sound on high notes and rich bass. It also has studio-quality dual microphones equipped with AI Noise Canceling technology to “capture your voice clearly and reduce background noise.”

Then this may be the laptop for you, as it has an excellent Studio mode, which allows you to be at your best at all times, with ” “improved visuals and lighting correction,” as well as cool features like eye contact correction and smoothing out any background you’re in.
The rest of the lineup includes the Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Pro Premium and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 convertible. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro has been confirmed to have the same audio and mic capabilities as the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra.

Launch date and availability
These premium laptops will launch on February 22, 2023. Unfortunately, availability and pricing for South Africa have not yet been confirmed, but that's not really a surprise. Samsung hasn't officially sold its laptops in South Africa for several years now, so you'd be lucky to get your hands on one of these laptops here in South Africa. Hopefully this is the year that changes.
