The world of pop culture has been in turmoil since we learned that the adventures of Scott Pilgrim and his friends were not only going to return to the world, but also in the form of a Netflix series, Scott Pilgrim The Anime! The internet went wild as soon as it found out, but what's even more exciting is that most of the pristine cast from the live-action version are returning to continue the adventure.

Bryan Lee O'Malley, the brilliant mind who brought us the original graphic novels on which the animated film is based, takes on the role of creator, writer and executive producer of the Netflix anime. Also joining O'Malley and Edgar Wright, the director of the live-action film, is Ben David Grabinski.
They're not the only ones returning to the project, as almost the entire original cast is back to perform the voices of their original characters in the live-action film. Alison Pill returns as Kim Pine, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Brie Larson as Envy Adams, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Ellen Wong as Knives Chau, Jason Schwartzman as Gideon Graves, Johnny Simmons as Young Neil, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Mae Whitman as Roxy Richter, Mark Webber as Stephen Stills, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim and Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel. Even the band Anamanaguchi, who composed the music for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, returns with original songs in the anime.

Edgar Wright explained that it wasn't difficult to convince the cast to return for the Netflix adaptation, because the original film created an incredible bond between all the actors, which they never lost, despite the years that have passed since. Many of them started a group email in 2010 for the live-action film, which continues today.
Edgar Wright told Netflix in March that he was excited to finally get the cast back together to continue telling the story they started. Of course, being able to do it in one epic shot, thanks to the group email, made it even more magical. “Seeing (and hearing) everyone reprise their roles was a real pleasure.
