In September, a collaboration between gaming and entertainment company Sony and Japanese automaker Honda began, under the name Sony Honda Mobility. Although they have yet to establish an official brand together, they have discussed using their collaboration to venture into the world of electric vehicles and attempt to compete with brands like Tesla. How can Sony Honda Mobility compete with Tesla?

The head of Sony Honda Mobility said that when they start developing the car, they will rely heavily on the elements that make Sony successful to give their vehicle a chance. The plan is to build the car around movies, music, and most importantly, the PS5 (if they build a Spider-Man themed car, Sony will rally all the nerds to their cause).
Sony Honda Mobility President Izumi Kawanish (the man responsible for creating the Aibo robot dog) told the Financial Times that “Sony has content, services and entertainment technologies that get people moving. We adapt these assets to mobility, and that is our strength against Tesla.”
Will the future Sony Honda Mobility car be equipped with a PS5?
At this point, integrating the PS5 into their car has been Sony Honda Mobility's biggest selling point. Not only will the addition of the game console clearly differentiate the future car from Telsa's, but Kawanishi said the incorporation is a definite technological possibility.
He explained that since the incorporation of the PlayStation 5 will be such an important part of the car, there won't be much point if you can't use it. They want to create a space where you don't need to drive, which means Sony Honda Mobility will also incorporate autonomous driving into its designs (long car trips could be much more entertaining and headache-inducing if people do not pay attention).
