With the Find My application, for example, Apple offers an application with which you can find your iPhone, AirPods and other devices linked to the Apple ID. What does “No location found” mean on iPhones?

There are many reasons why you may have this problem. Here's what that means in most cases:

1. The other person/phone is out of battery

If the person you're trying to locate on the other end of the line has a phone whose battery suddenly dies, you may see the “No location found” error on your end.

2. Location services are not enabled

The reason may also be that location services are not enabled in the settings. So, to find your friends on Find My Friends, you need to make sure that you are sharing your location and have location services enabled.

3. You must accept the new iCloud T&Cs.

If you have new iCloud terms of service that you need to read and agree to but haven't yet, the app may block your access to certain features until you do so. .

4. Your phone's airplane mode is turned on.

Your location services work for Find My when your Internet service is turned on. When Airplane Mode is enabled, WiFi or Internet service is disabled and apps that use location services do not work properly.

5. System problems

I found reports of some iPhone users sharing their location with the same friends but suddenly started having the “No Location Found” issue. They could only see their friend's location unless the app was open. This issue has been confirmed to be caused by an outdated version of iOS.

6. Low network speed

Many iPhone users also report having this problem when they are away from home. But when they are back home and using a WiFi service, they can see their friends online again. This problem is caused by low network speed or high network traffic.

6 Tips to Fix “No Location Found” Issue on iPhones

Below are some tips to fix this problem once and for all:

1. Restart your phone

As I always say, restarting a phone is one of the first ports of call when something goes wrong before starting the actual troubleshooting. Many people were able to resolve the issue by restarting their device. You can also sign out and sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID and see if the problem resolves.

2. Update iOS

A few Find My users resolved the issue by updating their devices to the latest version of iOS. You can update manually if you missed an update or haven't had your iPhone in a while.

  • Start by backing up your phone with iCloud so that if there is a problem with the new iOS update, you can go back to your current iOS.
  • Go to your phone's settings and tap General.
  • Scroll down and tap Software Update.
  • If there is an update, tap Download and install to download it.

  • If there is an update, tap Download and install to download it.
    • Next, tap Install Now and enter your security code.

    Advice

    • Updates are automatically downloaded by default. But if your iPhone doesn't update by default, you can change it in iTunes & App Store settings. Simply enable automatic downloads for updates in this category.
    • To find out if you're on the latest version of iOS, go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad, go to General, then About. In the Version field, you can see which version of iOS is installed on your device.

    3. Enable location services

For location apps to work properly on iPhone, you need to enable location services for Find My or any other app you want to use. So do the following:

  • Go to Settings on iPhone
  • Tap Privacy in iOS Settings.
  • Go to the Location Services section.
  • Enable location services
  • Scroll down until you see the app (e.g. Find My or any other app).
  • In Allow location access, tap Ask next time or while using the app.
  • 4. Turn on your Internet service or WiFi network

Again, an internet connection is required for the location to be shared by a device. Therefore, location sharing may only work in areas with good network coverage. For example, you may experience connectivity issues in forests, high-rise buildings, or indoor spaces with thick insulated walls. If your Internet service is on, but coverage is poor, you can connect to a WiFi network instead.

    5. Set the date and time

If the date and time are set incorrectly due to a poor network connection, your iPhone's location apps may display the “No Locations Found” error.

So reset your date and time by going to Settings > General > Date & Time. Next, tap Set Automatically or 24 Hour Time. I recommend the Set Automatically option because your phone can automatically update the date and time over the network.

    6. Enable the Share location option in the app

If you can't see the locations of your friends or family members in the Find My app, you may need to turn on the Share Location feature. Proceed as follows:

  • Open the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
  • Tap on the People tab
  • Tap on a family member's name
  • Tap Share my location
  • Conclusion

If you want to locate a family member or friend and be located with location services, enable the Share Location option in the app, be in an area with good network coverage, or use a WiFi service. Also, the iPhone must work with the current version of iOS to avoid errors. Also make sure that iPhone automatically determines the time zone and country location.
